I'm a bioengineer and founding biotech operator in San Francisco. I build tools for epigenetic medicine and the discovery engines behind them, and research tools to navigate where biotech meets capital.
I grew up outside Washington DC in Great Falls, Virginia. That westward calling brought me to UC Santa Barbara, where I dove into neurobiology research and spearfishing before returning east to Johns Hopkins for my PhD in Human Genetics. There, Baltimore's streets propelled me to specialize in epigenetics—sort of the runtime config layer atop our genomic base model. Run a harness boot with the wrong flag set and the cell can't execute; flip those flags and you're back in business. This is the power of epigenome editing, and fortunately I came back west to San Francisco just in time to join the first pioneers mobilizing it for life-changing therapeutics.
